Jennifer Prudencio, of Chelsea, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment of a child, the Suffolk County District Attorney said on Tuesday, April 9.
Police were called to Prudencio's Spencer Avenue apartment on Sunday morning, where they found her son Yael Guardado-Prudencio, 3, unresponsive.
Officers did not say how the child died.
“The death of someone so young is a tragedy beyond words," said Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden. "My heart goes out to all who knew and loved this young boy, and to the police and emergency services personnel who responded to the scene that sad morning."
